Default Hammy acting different, is it just old age?

Hi, my Tooms is over 2 years old now he's a Russian Dwarf. He hasn't been out at night and been staying I'm bed more. He seems squintywhen I check in him but think this because I accidentally woke him. He came out for a run I'm his ball when I bothered him yesterday but that's about it. I'm not in during the day but haven't noticed his food o down much but he'shad a little bit of water yesterday when he did get up. Is it possible that it's just old age and he just don't want to be up as much or could it be the cold weather here in the UK this time of year? Should I be worried as he doesn't smell Amy different and his feces haven't changed so I doubt it's wettail

It sounds as though it's most likely a combination of old age & the weather if he's not showing any obvious symptoms of illness, he is a really good age for a Russian so he probably will just want to sleep much of the time, make sure he has his food & water within easy reach & just let him do what he likes.
I don't recommend balls for dwarf hams at all but I particularly wouldn't use one for an elderly ham, if he wants to come out for a bit of a run around in a safe area or for a cuddle then that's fine but I wouldn't put him in a ball where he has no choice but too run, they can sometimes get a bit arthritic with old age so it might even be painful for him.

Russians don't get wet tail btw.

They really don't get wet tail? I never knew that. Thanks, I prefer him not to be in the ball but for some reason he likes it every now and then (he enjoys pushing spare change over with it). But I will try to keep him away from bis ball of it could be bad for him.I'll just keep an eye on him jut to make sure. I know that he is a old man now, he even has a weird little beard so I'm not surprised he just wants to kip, hes a weird one tho as when he does get uo he seems full of beans
