Exclamation unhealthy scent glands?

i'm worried about the sarge. her scent glands are looking very...wet. and yellow. the wet fur has also become a bit hard/crusty. she seems to be acting normal and doesn't seem to be in pain even when i touch the glands. this just started today/tonight since they were not like this when i saw her yesterday.

is this normal? what's happening? should i take her to a vet?

I am so sorry that Sarge is not doing well. I have no experience with that health issue, but I'm sure another member on the forum will come along and be able to help. I would suggest if in doubt take her to the vets to be sure. I hope she is alright and will be keeping my fingers crossed all will be fine. Good luck, Chio. I'm so sorry I couldn't be of any more help, but I'm sending you big hugs and cuddles to Sarge.

I don't have any personal experience with syrians but I think they can sometimes look like that just from doing a lot of scent marking sometimes, has anything changed in her cage or environment, cage cleaning or new things in her cage? Anything like that or any new scents around could cause her to do a lot of scent marking.
You could just try bathing them with some warm water if she doesn't groom herself & clean them up but unless it gets worse or goes on for a longer period of time I'm not sure there's too much to worry about.

okay, thank you both very much!
i haven't cleaned her cage recently enough to warrant a bunch of scent marking, i don't think. but i'll just stay on the lookout to see if it gets worse or goes on too long, like you suggested, cypher.
thank you guys again! i'll leave an update if something notable happens.
