That's what ours looks like. It looks like she has a little eye infection. We have been bathing it with a cup of boiled water and a pinch of salt in it then cooled and use a cotton ball to gently wipe it. It should clear up with some drops I think. The red staining is porphyrin not blood and it is secreted from the back of the eye in response to irritation or infection. I'm sure it will be fine to take her in the morning and get her checked. Try and see if the vets have hamster experience. Ours has fusithalmic eye gel but we have had maxitrol before.

Okay, thank you so much I'm a worrier so it's good to know that she should be fine until the morning.

One of the vets at my surgery is brilliant with hamsters and small animals, but I don't really have a way of ensuring I get her since it's such a small place and it's usually one or the other who is in. But hopefully I will have her. I almost always do (just not on Pie's recent visit, sadly).

I hope your ham gets well soon! Thank you for all the advice
