That temperature is fine, try to keep it around that & not let it get much hotter or colder, 65 should be about the lowest & you probably don't want to let it get above about 70.

I think my thermostat is wrong cuz it says its 70 degrees in here yet I feel like I'm I'm freezing my rear off and I'm wearing a t shirt, a long sleeve shirt and a jacket my ham hams cages feel cold to the touch too. its only 26 out side so maybe thats why.

Get another thermometer & check to be sure then. If you put it close to the cage you'll know if your ham is warm enough or not.
Make sure your ham has plenty of deep substrate & shredded tissue for a warm nest too.

Assume that's fahrenheit As Cypher says, just get a room thermometer - they're very cheap. They sell them for babies. A chemist or hardware store should have them. We just have a basic one like this

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Wall-Indoor...E8CRT3QWJY5WE4

Whatever the red stuff is inside, goes up and down in minutes so it's quite accurate. If it feels freezing cold then it probably is

Could you just get a little portable heater and a timer switch? I've got a small oil filled radiator, plugged into a timer switch, and it's set to come on between 4pm and 10pm on low then a couple of hours in the middle of the night. Depending how well insulated your apartment is. If it doesn't hold the heat well then maybe a bit longer at night. The oil filled radiators are cheap on electricity and usually have a safety cut out, plus they act just like a central heating radiator.

We have this one, but our model doesn't have the built in timer. It's not cheap but it's a safe one.

What kind of space heater do you have and what doesn't look safe? If you think it isn't you'll probably need a heater anyway.

Last year we had a cold snap and I got a thermometer and stuck it to the cage. My living room radiator was broken, so I would give my ham extra bedding, a snugglesafe and cover her cage with a blanket to keep the heat in (we also ran a space heater in the same room in the evening, but you can't safely leave them to run while you're in bed and hams awake! ) the snugglesafe just needs you to use a microwave, that might be easier than turning the heating on when you're alone. I am not sure where to get one or what the equivalent would be outside Europe, or if you could home make a heat pad with rice or something maybe?

that metal part at the end looks broken plus all that dust looks like a fire hazard. Like I could get the maintenance guys to look at it but I have no clue how long they have taken to get an exterminator her to find out were all the spiders are coming from. My apartment I'm pretty sure is not insulated well consider how thin the walls are.

heres what the out side looks I no clue what type this I think its connected to the thermostat but I'm not sure

It might be better to get a small plug in heater until you get the main one checked out. I wouldn't use a fan heater or anything with radiant bars while you're not there, but a panel heater or small oil filled radiator would be ok. You can get circuit breaker adapters to make sure they are safe when left on. I just started a new thread on keeping hammies warm which might help

Keeping hamsters warm in winter

If all else fails, turn the oven on That's what we did when heating broke. But only when you're there obviously! Electric panel heaters or convector heaters are more expensive to run, on the electric bill though. The oil filled radiators are quite cheap to run.

I'll try looking for one at the store as soon as my next check comes though i might have to go with the stove method cuz I'm not sure how much the check I'm getting next month is. Thankfully my rents fixed it and will be payed by my payee but if its not a lot my rent will take up a good chunk then I need to get pet supplies for next month then cleaning supplies I also need to take both hamsters to the vet so i might not be able to get a heater so good thing I don't leave my apartment that often. Though who knows maybe they will fix the space heater fast.

Yes if you're renting they should fix it. That would be the best option. Tell them it's urgent and you have a pet that could get sick if it's not fixed asap. Email them if you can - sometimes they respond more if it's in writing.
