Possible conjunctivitis?
My hamster is showing signs of being under the weather. She has a bulging eye that looks bloody and also has a few cuts around her eye and on her nose. Her other eye was closed over and I've now sorted that by prying it open gently with a cotton bud (q-tip) - and she is also walking quite hunched and is refusing to come out of her little coconut hideaway. I'll insert a picture of her eye.
EDIT: I'm just wondering what I can do for her? I can't get her to the vets until Tuesday at the latest due to work. Does she need to be seen by one sooner? Any advice is grateful!

Re: Possible conjunctivitis?
From the look of her eye in the photo & the way you describe her behaviour & being hunched like that I think Tuesday is too long to wait for a vet visit, can you possibly get her seen sooner?

Yeah I think I could possibly take her tomorrow actually because they're open later than I thought. I'm really worried about her cos she's literally took a bad turn overnight

Re: Possible conjunctivitis?
Hope you can get her seen as it looks like she has injured the eye there. Could she have got trapped in something and struggled to free herself. She looks to be in shock a bit. Keep her very quiet and warm and I'd offer some sweetened water to give her some energy as well as maybe some babyfood. Get her mouth checked too as if she has bars she could have been chewing, caught her teeth and twanged them and panicked in her struggle.
Hope she is ok x

Yeah she has a really bad habit of chewing the bars no matter how much I've tried to stop her thank you I'll make sure that I get her looked at tomorrow after work and have her looked at. Hopefully it's nothing too serious ☹
Thank you x

Does she sleep in that hideout? If so please throw a load of ripped up toilet paper in there so she can get comfortable.
Please don't wait till Tuesday for the vets, i'd personally take tomorrow morning off work to get her to the vets but maybe that's not possible for you. Poor little girl, I hope she gets better soon! Good luck with her.
Sorry if I sound quite abrupt and rude but those 10 hours you work or however long it maybe, is a long time for a hamster to be poorly. I'm sure you know but they're not like us where we can wait for treatment - they go down hill rapidly. Work is less important than your pets well being.

I really wish I could take the morning off work and get her there asap but I'm management of a store and so if I don't turn in the store can't really run properly so unfortunately I need to be in. Thankfully it's only a really short shift and can be home early enough to get her the vets.
She doesn't usually sleep in the hideout no, she has a cottage where she usually sleeps that has all of her ripped tissue paper in it for her. I've tried adding in the but she isn't interested in it in that hideout but yeah I'll be taking her tomorrow afternoon when I finish work.
