Hamster won't open eyes and wet tummy!

Pls help! My dwarf hamster is over 1 year old now and she has never been sick before, but just today, she started to show some weird signs: she won't open her eyes even when she's awake and go around (she usually just sleep all day, occasionally move to a new spot to continue doing so), i tried to wipe away the eye's "dust" with wet tissue but it didn't help, and she seems less energetic, less responsive to enviromental factor (like when i accidentally make a loud noise, she'd wake up, but today she just doesn't seem to be bothered, even when i lightly touched her). I also noticed that yesterday and the day before that she didn't seem to care about the food i gave her but was still very active (like running on the wheel and stuffs) and she seems to have yellow wet tummy (which could just be her urine), doesn't have a wet tail. I did gave her a piece of banana and cherry on the last 2 days (this is not a usual thing, only occasionally), I have read that it can cause diarrhea, but since she's also has been peeing and pooping less than usual (like barely) these couple of days, i'm guessing that's not the case! And the vets are out of questions bc there are no vets that treat hamsters where i live! Pls help, i really don't wanna lose her!

Where do you live? Your hamster sounds very sick and needs to see a vet ASAP, look for one that will treat hamsters in your area. If you can say where you live then others who might be in your area can help you locate a vet.

i live in vietnam and trust me, there are like zero hamster vets here, i've looked everywhere! Most vets here only treat dogs and cats! There's only me and her!

Could you perhaps take a photograph? The lethargy is quite concerning.

Have you called the vets to ask if they might see her? Sometimes they only list cats/dogs on their website but will still see smalls.

I'm asking every vets i can find, hoping they'll take a look at her! They only have hamster vets in South Vietnam, I live in the North so its very hard to find! And I just notice she lost a chunk of fur around her anus, and her whole belly is yellow and wet, idk what to do!

Her eyes are closed like that the entire day, it seems like she can open them, she just won't, she can still move around and navigate pretty good but less responsive!

She seems to have breathing issue too so i'm guessing its a respiratory illness, i'm trying to contact the vets, none have reply tho!

Hope your hamster is ok. As she isn't moving about much it would make things easier for her if she had her water bottle/bowl and food near her sleeping place.

She does look unwell in that photo, I'm sorry you haven't had any luck with the vets, do keep trying just in case there is one who can help, all you can really do is keep her comfortable & quiet with food & water within easy reach if she wants them.

Unfortunately, she passed away this morning! I was able to find her a vet and we were going to take her this morning, but she didn't make it. It was looking bad since last night and i was hoping she could make it 'til morning. It sucks, and what worse is that i dont know what caused it! I did everything i could to accommondate her living conditions, and gave her healthy foods, but still, illness still snuck up on us even though she was perfectly fine a night ago. I guess that's how things are sometimes! We buried her in a park near our house so that she can be with nature! Such a beautiful and adorable creature that has to lose her life despite how short it is without even living to her old age!

Thank you for all your helps, I'm in mourning right now, but I'll try to move on. I think I'll give away all her stuffs and keep some of them for memories since i'm about to enter a very busy stage in my life (college and stuffs), i don't think i'll be getting another hammy in a long while. Again, thank you all for your supports!

I'm really sorry she's gone, sometimes we can't know what the problem is & being so tiny things can take a turn for the worse very quickly but you did what you could for her & she's at peace now.
