Re: Hamster mouth tumor or abscess please help
He is so precious, I'm so happy that the vet did an amazing job! And that your hammy made a speedy recovery. You must most definitely have a great vet!

Gorgeous Ginger's looking so well and it's so great seeing him getting stuck into his food.
He really is a bundle of joy.

Re: Hamster mouth tumor or abscess please help
Thank you all for the positive comments and the support you have shown Ginger and I. If he knew there were so many people that care about him he would be very delighted. Now that he is feeling better I want to buy him a new wheel as he destroyed his previous one and the one before that and so on.. haha. He chews through it until there is hardly anything to run on and his health and safety from chewing plastic concerns me. He constantly has chew toys in his cage but hes not interested in them. He wants to chew his wheel. I tried different types of wheels but he likes the look of them all haha. Any suggestions?

Re: Hamster mouth tumor or abscess please help
If he insists on chewing his wheel it might be best to just stick to a cheap one!
There's a good guide to wheels here though.

Hi Ren,
Have just read your thread about Ginger and his surgery, what a trooper Ginger is and a fab looking little fellow too..!
I am so pleased everything has gone well and Ginger is well on the mend and enjoying all the love you have for him.

Aw thank you! I was giving him his baytril and I noticed that the area where he had stitches is very pink like you can see his flesh but he isnt bleeding at all... have the stitches come off or is that normal? Its so hard not to worry about everything in such a sensitive phase for him
