Aww I'm am so happy he made it through surgery! Sometimes older hams don't do too well when they're operated on.

Wishing Ginger a speedy recovery and a healthy and comfortable life ahead for him.

Cinnamon Bear, what I normally do is just put the syringe next to his mouth and when he licks it I push out a bit of food at a time, he eats himself I dont really need to put the syringe in his mouth at all xx

Coco61, it was Celia Hammonds Animal Trust in canning town, they are very affordable and amazing vets. I saw a couple of vets from this place that didnt want to risk operating him but I was lucky to get someone who was willing to take a shot! I would defo recommend them if you are in London! Really amazing vets

Crystalroborovski, thank you so much for your well wishes, I wish you and your hammys the best too! Xx

So happy he took some food from the syringe, you're doing good, a little bit at a time.
Ginger will have been used to having the tumour and will have adjusted to eating with it and now it's gone, he'll have to adjust.
I got slightly bigger syringes from the pharmacy in Asda when my past ham Archie was ill.
Good Luck today with Ginger's check up at the vet.

Took him to the vet today and he is doing amazing! The vet said they are happy with his progress and he is healing nicely! He has started to eat and drink by himself now and the noises I was worried about have stopped! I got my little Ginger back! Tomorrow I will post some pictures of him

Ren that is fantastic! Ginger is a little warrior and so pleased he's eating & drinking by himself. The both of you have been through a tough time, that love and bond you have has only gotten stronger.
Big Hugs to Ginger xx

Yay!!!! Go Ginger! I really love it when we hear of a happy ending as all too frequently small animals, and hamsters in particular, don't seem to pull through operations. Sounds like Ginger us out if the woods now, though. Looking forward to pics

That is great news. It is amazing that this vet took a chance on him and you gave him that chance to have the op. I hope he heals up well and continues to progress.
