Fingers crossed that the surgery goes well and that hopefully he will recover well and be able to enjoy the rest of his life.

Please do keep us updated xxx

He is back home, surgery went well. They said it was really easy to remove the tumour. He was happy to be back in his space last night but he hasnt eaten since yesterday... I dont know if thats normal? Also when hes sleeping he is making strange noises almost like a clock ticking but sometimes they are louder like a sneeze... I dont know if it is because he is pain due to the stitches. Any suggestions as to what this may be?

wow I am so happy to hear this vet has given him a chance. Maybe his nose is a bit congested due to the anaesthetic causing the ticking noise? I expect he will be sneezing because of the odd feeling in his mouth and face with the stitches and the work done on him.Did he get any painkiller like metacam? I would try and resuade him with anything he might take to eat like more babyfood/ cooked pasta or rice, veggies chopped up, a little chicken or something to get his appetite going again. Wishing him a speedy revovery.

Great to hear the surgery went well.
I wouldn't worry too much about the sounds when he's sleeping for now, it may well just be the stitches & I guess there could be a little bit of swelling too, did the vet give you anything for the pain?
Have you tried feeding baby foods (check ingredients) porridge or other soft foods, those may be easier for him to eat right now.

I'm so happy for you and your little one, he's a little trooper. Your vet is amazing! The vegetable baby food are really great for hams. I'd recommend Cow 'N Gates Pumpkin Chicken, Cauliflower Cheese, Sunday Chicken Lunch, Heinz Carrot with Sweet Potato.
Avoid any with onion, garlic or tomato. The above are ones I've used on my hams.
What's your hammy called?
Big Hugs to the both of you xxx

We were so fortunate to find a vet who decided to give him a chance! I was not expecting it at all, it was such a great surprise to go there and find out that I will be taking him back home! I have been feeding him baby food for a while now because even before with the tumour he couldnt eat his normal hammy food as the tumour was huge. He has eaten a bit now, I think he is doing really well! Once again, I cannot thank everyone on this forum enough for all the kind advice and support, it is truly amazing. His name is Ginger, I will be posting pictures of him after his recovery as i dont want to bother him too much right now. Many thanks, hugs to you all xxx
