Poop stuck half way out for two days!
Im a new hammy owner, I brought her home yesterday. I thought she had some poop stuck to her fur when I bought her but today I checked and its actually stuck half way out. I tried getting the poop to come out but its pretty stuck, should i try wetting it and pulling it out? I dont want to hurt her but it needs to come out
please help!

What about giving her a little broccoli, not much though, it made our ham a bit loose shall we say.

Re: Poop stuck half way out for two days!
Are you sure that it is the same poop? Hamsters often pull their poop out themselves with their mouths (and sometimes take a nibble!). It could be that your ham is in the habit of waiting a bit before she does this. If more poop is appearing in her cage, you can be sure that one poop has not been stuck there for days. So, check for this. If she really is that constipated, her bottom may be swollen and she will be acting as though she is in pain and not eating. Those are therefore signs to look for too.

Olive oil is a good thing to offer in order to stop constipation. A few drops on a treat will do If the problem continues, or she begins to look swollen, you should take her to a vet ASAP. Hope she's alright
