Hi just joined! Advice needed on hammie with neurological problem
Hi - I'm fostering 6 rescue hammie until they go to a rescue centre. One robo has neurological issues, she spins in circles (stargazing? Doesn't look up tho). I have decided to keep her, I can give her a lot of attention but I need advice on this condition. I have upgraded her cage as she was in one that would be sold as a carrier! On advice already obtained it is all one level and I know to keep things where they are to avoid disorientation. I was told to give her a wheel but limit use, sadly she doesn't get how to use it so isn't helping with stimulation.
SO any advice people who have had this issue can give me on giving her the best possible life I would be very grateful.
I have switched from the shavings she had to carefresh as it's softer and she had no stimulation so have added small toys but she spins so fast and so long she flattens the bedding!
So hi all glad to be part of this forum and I have 3 hammies of my own and now 4 with this little one.

Re: Hi just joined! Advice needed on hammie with neurological problem
I don't have any experience with spinners/star-gazers, so I can't really give any tips of my own. I found this page and also this blog page that might have some helpful information.
Good luck with your little one.
