Unhappy Blood in corner of hamsters cage!!

I got a male Syrian hamster almost 2 weeks ago, he has been acting normal and I have exams so I haven't been able to tame him yet. He has crawled onto my hand but I haven't properly handled him yet. He had diarrohea a few days ago because I was feeding him too many fresh vegetables so I have stopped feeding him them and his behaviour has been normal. His pop is back to normal. Today I noticed that once corner of his cage has red blood on the wood shavings (mixed shavings from pets at home). I am not sure if it's mixed with urine but it's quite a bit of blood. It doesn't seem to be on his body. Does anyone know what this could be?

If it's blood in urine then it is most probably either a UTI or possibly kidney/bladder stones although that would be less usual in a young ham, either of these would need to be treated by your vet.
Do check that it is blood though, is there anything red (toys or food) that could have made a red stain?

If he already had diarrhoea followed by blood then you really must see a very with him as it could be bowel damage due to that. Any blood needs investigated unless you can see where it has come from clearly and it is is something simple like a pulled toe nail or small cut.
Hope you can have him seen too soon.

Is it the corner where he uses as a toilet or just a random part of the cage?
If you can't find any cut of scratches on him then take him to the vets asap. Hopefully he just scratched himself on the woodshavings though.

Does he have any red wooden or paper toys? Sometimes the dye will come of these onto the bedding.
