I agree with the others. Blacky also has a bald patch behind his ears, it isn't so big (in size) but it's balder, so I suppose that the amount of hair can vary between hamsters, but the bald patch behind their ears is normal in all of them.

Thanks Hamsterita. I think it looks bigger in that picture than it really is. I’m goimg to monitor it in case it gets any bigger though.

If you look at Newt's latest photos, he doesn't seem to have much hair behind his ears either!

Funny you should mention that, Serendipity! I was thinking that as I looked at Newt’s latest photos - recently I have been checking the ears of all hamsters I see lol. Doesn’t detract from his good looks though
