Major help needed !!😰

I was playing with my hamster today and i noticed an extremely small scab on his back near his shoulder blades. I was worried but it seemed almost healed so I didn't bother but did a bit of research and noticed his behavior. He has been itching recently and I came to the conclusion that he has mites. But his skin is not red at all he just seems to be itching. The problem is that I have a flight to catch in 2 hours and I will be back in 2 days. Will he be alright for 2 days? When I'm back I will take him to the vet but I wanted to know if he will be alright for 2 days or is this extremely serious ?

I am sure he will be fine for two days Maybe you could book a vet appointment before you go, for the day after you are back. They can take a skin scraping and check if it is mites or something else. There can be other reasons they scratch - some can become allergic to certain types of bedding.

Mites naturally live on a hamster's skin and are extremely tiny - too small to see usually. They can have a bit of an outbreak if the hamster's immune system is low for some reason and then the natural balance is thrown and the mites can become too many.

I would just wait till you get back, it sounds like it has been a gradual thing so another couple of days won't do any harm.

Thank you so much Serendipity7000�� I went into a complete panic mode since I'm traveling. As soon as I'm back I'll take him to the vet. I don't think he is allergic because all the stuff in his bin cage he has been using for a year now and has never had issues with any of his stuff. It's probably mites but a trip to the vet will clarify things a lot more

I agree, one or two more days won't do him any more harm since he's likely been dealing with this for quite a bit of time at this point. Mites are pretty easy to treat by a vet so stress too much over it hope he feels better soon

Mites is easily fixed, it sounds like his are under his skin.
