Flakey skin relief ideas
Hey guys, I'm looking for some ideas on how to relieve my long haired Syrian boy's flakey/ dry skin. He has been to the vet and she took a sample and looked at it under the microscope. She said she did not see any mites or parasites, but gave him a bit of an oral med to kill any parasites just in case. She sent me home with a second dose of medication for him which I gave him a week later. The vet said it was also possible he was reacting to being on pine bedding up until he came to me ( now on carefresh) He's been a champ through all of this and he's only lived with me for three weeks. I got him from a girl who was moving and could not take him with so his age is unknown. He really doesn't seem too bothered by the dry skin, he isn't rubbing or itching excessively. I did dig out my old plastic Barbie brush and use it gently on him once a day thinking maybe it would help loosen the flakes. Anything else I can do for Dewey?

Re: Flakey skin relief ideas
I would give him some extra flax seeds (linseed) & some evening primrose oil, just a drop, I put it on dry oat flakes as they enjoy it that way & the oats are good for them too.
