Please help my hamster
My hamster has always been very healthy and happy. But recently, I noticed that he got a swollen red wound under his armpit and two more red spots near his tummy as well. His neck became red and lost some hair. I can also see that the area hear his legs lost hair too. I assume that he has some skin problem maybe but I am not sure. Can anyone help me and teach me what should I do. I don't wanna see him suffering as he scratches his body all the time! Many thanks!

Re: Please help my hamster
That looks pretty painful! What kind of bedding is your little one on? I am thinking mites by the pictures and what you're describing, but it could be a wound/allergic reaction. If at all possible, I'd recommend taking her to an exotics vet ASAP. Her condition looks pretty rough, but I hope all turns out okay! Best wishes

Re: Please help my hamster
Id guess at mites too, I had a rescue previously who had a mild case of mites when I re-homed him, the hair loss and reddening was similar but not as widespread. Quick trip to the vet and some ointment soon cleared it up.
I would take your ham to the vet as soon as you can and get it sorted as it does look rather uncomfortable for him.

That looks so painful, it made me want to scratch myself. It must be so sore for your little ham.
He needs to see a vet ASAP who'll be able to advise you on what needs to be done.

I agree with the others. you should go with him to the vet. It doesn't look good. Maybe the vet should give him a general check, because his mouth looks strange too.
I hope it's nothing serious.

Re: Please help my hamster
It does look like there is a serious problem here that must be painful for your little one. See a vet urgently. The teeth need checked as well as the top tooth looks crossed over in the pic? Is there hair loss elsewhere because Cushing's disease is also a possibility.
I hope your hammie can be seen soon and get some help
