Keep an eye on their behaviour for any attacks or chasing from one of them. Hopefully that won`t be the case, but keep it in mind just in case.

Levels shouldn't ever be used with pairs That being said, they'd probably be better off separated. It is far more common to have pairs fall out than to be completely fine together, since it is very unnatural.Social hamsters would be mixed genders in the wild, and those of the same gender wouldn't be social with each other,so keeping pairs can be detrimental to the mental and physical health of hamsters

Re: Hamsters going nuts!?!
Hi - just posted on your other thread. I know the cage, it's a lovely big cage. The levels are part of it I think. It sounds to me like you would be better separating them and leaving the cage in tact. Which means you'd need another cage for one of them - do you have a large plastic storage bin you could use that as a temporary cage for one of them until you get something sorted.

I wouldn't wait for things to get worse, it does sound like they are showing all the signs that it's now time to have their own space each, fights can escalate very rapidly so best to separate them before one gets badly hurt.

Re: Hamsters going nuts!?!
How are they doing? It's a shame but it's probably for the best. They can both enjoy their environment without squabbles and fights now. Did you manage to make a bin cage or something? At least now you can set up the Songmics cage how you want, for the hamster that is in it.
