Unhappy Little bit closed eye

Last Friday I first noticed that Daisy's right eye is more closed than the other one, I got a bit scared she has hurted her eye. I tried to check online help and I read that woping the eye damp cotton pad gently. That's what I did and I was relieft, but unfortunately this has been going on every day since Friday and now I tried to do the same, but it didnt help, could this be eye infection or has she injured the eye? And is this a situation I could take her to vet or am I worried for nothing?
I was also thinking should I change the bedding I'm using for her? Atm I'm using Aspen begging from pets at home, maybe I could try carefresh bedding, if it makes any difference.

Does the eye look inflamed or have any discharge at all?
As it's been partially closed for this long I think you're right to be concerned, she may have poked it with something & hurt it or it could be infected, wiping the eyes helps when they get a bit gummed up but not really otherwise.
If it doesn't improve it wouldn't hurt to get your vet to take a look.
I've never used aspen, does it have any sharp bits in it? If it does then that could have hurt her eye & a soft, paper substrate like fitch might be safer.

Try and change the substrate first before a vet trip.Allergies and irritation can happen with most substrates other than paper substrate,so it wouldn't be surprising if that was the cause.

Avoid Carefresh if you can since that could add more problems for you in terms of how dusty it is.Fitch as mentioned would be ideal, since it is completely safe unlike wood which can cause injury and allergic reactions and has virtually no dust whereas Carefresh is loaded with dust.Fitch also happens to be the safest economical substrate in the UK,and the value is far superior to Carefresh

I wouldn't have thought it would be an allergy Amity, I think there would be more symptoms if that were the case, more likely some substrate or even something else has poked the eye or there is an infection there.

I've used aspen with my hams before, and I can tell you that it's not a good substrate with ones that burrow. It can have little sharp bits that can get stuck in their eye when they're digging around, which is why I'm strict with using it only on hams that don't like burrowing. As said above definitely switch to a softer bedding, see what that does, and if there's no improvement, or if it worsens, she should be taken to the vet to clear it up. Best wishes, hope your little one feels better soon

Thank you for your replies. Her eye looks good at the moment so I kind of stopped being really worried, but in case the same situation occurs tomorrow again I will take her to vet and I will change the substrate
