New Hamster, Long Nails Help!
I got my new hamster Milly 3 days ago. At first I noticed her nails looked a little long, but today I noticed they were curly! I have deep sand in the sand bath, but thats it. She's untamed right now so I can't cut them. Any suggestions please!?

I would see a vet. They can cut them for you (:

Thanks Penguin, I don't know if I'll have time to though as I'm busy as a bee with school

Re: New Hamster, Long Nails Help!
A trick that sometimes works is to put a flat but rough stone underneath where the hamster drinks so they have to stand on it to get water this can usually rub down their nails. If they are so curly that you are worried they might grow into your hamster's feet however that sounds like a vet visit.

Re: New Hamster, Long Nails Help!
Sounds like they are not far off being normal, she might just need some hard surfaces around her cage to wear them down. I would just keep an eye on them but not worry about it too much.
