Default Human to hamster?

Hi guys, i've an awful cold and sore throat . As i handle my hamster everyday, would this mean he might get my cold too?

Yes he could easily get your cold, try to avoid handling him as much as possible until you're feeling better, when you do have to change water, do food etc just make sure to wash your hands well before & he should be ok.
If you're coughing or sneezing try to stay well away from the cage!

Hope you feel better soon.

I remember wearing rubber gloves and mask - those paper face masks that cover your nose & mouth and can get a pack from Poundland or poundworld. I did this when I had to check the cage or handle my hammy. I also found the Carex handwipes really good and always kept a packet next to the cage. Still do.
Hope you're feeling better soon.

Oh that's a good idea! I do feel rough as anything though so I may just let him rest for a few days whilst I rest also. Thanks for your advice!

Hope you feel better soon. I use wet ones wipes (kill 99% of bugs) before putting food and water out when I have a cold - plus Carex handwash. And try not to breathe on anything when you put the food and water out
