Default Teeth and gum issues!

Hi there I'm new!

I have a 1 year old Syrian hamster called Ursula. Since she was around 6 'obtuse old she's suffered from malocclusion and we take her to the vets often to get her teeth clipped.

This was just hereditary according to our vet because I was explaining how frustrated I was because she has so many chews!!

Anyway we have gotten into a routine with vet visits and I check her teeth daily and today her gums seem like they are peeling away? I'll insert an image it's really worrying.

Thanks guys.

I wonder if the roots have been damaged by the constant clipping needed and the teeth are loose now in the gums. I'd maybe send the pic to the vet and ask their advice. It is possible for them to have the teeth removed but they do need a specialised diet after this. It is tricky managing a hamster with malocclusion. The teeth grow very quickly. It be that she needs anaethetised and the teeth cut using a burr tool to save moving the roots.

Sorry guys I meant 6 months old not obtuse hah and when we first noticed her malocclusion the vet said removal was not an option and trimming have seemed fine up to now, but I have been worrying about those black patches at the roots of her teeth :/
