I've spent over £300 on Myrcella. This included;
1 spay operation
2 x Baytril
2 x Meloxicam
1 x (other antibiotic)
2 x teeth trimmings
5 x consultation fees/post op checks (I think)

She had Pyometra (uterus infection), spaying is the only way of getting rid of it.

Hope she went on to a healthy life afterwards?

She did really well but she has some unknown problem at the moment, she had been on Baytril for two weeks with no improvement so we are trying a different antibiotic and anti-inflammatory painkillers. She has discharge coming from her vagina area. Vet doesn't know exactly what the problem is so we are hoping the new meds help, she had built a tolerance for Baytril.

Also forgot to mention that cost includes
2 x teeth trimmings.

She's damaged her lower teeth roots so they no longer grow, so she requires to have her upper teeth trimmed regularly and a soft food diet. Bless her.

That must be a lot of stress too? Hope new meds work for her. That's too bad Taking care of a sick hamster especially with Myrcella's on-going problems must be hard. I know I'm worried about both of my Russians, especially these mites that the meds hopefully will work.

I think Bella was probably my most expensive single hamster in terms of vet bills with approximately £240 (she had her surgery in 2010 and her other treatment in 2011 so it may have been more, but I can't quite remember):
£30 on consultation and antibiotics
£160 on an ultrasound, x-ray, spay and follow-up
£50 on 2x consultations, medication and injections for heart failure

My most expensive month was this May when I had 3 small furries need surgery within 2 weeks:
£180 for Zuli's spay
£70 for Nin's abscess operation
£70 for Andromeda's surgery (and euthanasia under anaesthetic)

Thankfully, relatively few of my hams ever need to see a vet.

I once had a hamster with resistant mites - she came to me with them from a rescue centre. She needed a course of several injections to sort them out, and they never returned. I did, however, also have a male mouse who had recurrent mites and had an underlying health issue to which he later succumbed.

That's about $1060 in US dollars. That's alot of vet money. That's interesting about the mites on your rescue were stubborn but eventually was healed. Them the mouse had probably Demodex mites possibly? That's good that most of your hammies didn't need to ever see the vet!

She's actually quite well at the vets. Doesn't get too stressed which is good. The consultation fees are expensive where I go, I see an exotics vet and is around £35 I think per consultation. It is hard but she's slowly improving which is great.

That's great! Improvement that is good to hear. The exotic vets consult fees are expensive here too. The most expensive consult fee is $70 just to walk in the door...
