How to replace hamsters hoard?

I'm sorry if I'm posting in the wrong category, I'm new on this forum!

So I gave my hamster a tiny carrot and it looks like he hoarded the carrot. Carrot's don't really stay good for very long so is there a way I can replace that carrot with another carrot? He has eaten it a little so will he notice?

Hi and Welcome to HC.
Why don't you try another vegetable and see how he takes to that? Brocolli goes down well along with cauliflower and baby sweet corn.

I wouldn't replace any fresh food in the hoard, give a very small fresh piece (as much variety as possible) each day & just remove anything that isn't eaten.

Hamsters love to hoard food, so stopping it really cant be done. Yes carrot will go off, I tend to either give them fresh fruit or vegetables outside of there cage in a playpen, so I can find it and remove it. In a cage its much harder to find! After a few hours I would remove it

Theres no need to replace it, just remove and give another piece the following day or so
