I think mixes in Canada are a tricky one to find one that doesn't have sugars in. Can you get Hazel Hamster? The pieces are a bit big for a dwarf hamster, but the mix is ok. It might be an idea to start a new thread with the heading of something like diabetes advice and diet for dwarf hamster. So it gets noticed and more responses as the heading on this thread makes it sound like it might be historical now Just a thought

I had a quick look at the Hagen mix - not sure if it's the one you have but it seems to have dried banana and molasses in, both of which are sugary, so a different mix would be better - I'll check out what there is on Amazon.ca

There doesn't seem to be a great choice and the only one specifically for dwarf hamsters I could find was this one. One reviewer seems to think it's the best option for dwarf hamsters and doesn't have sugary contents - you could supplement as per the thread above

A mix specifically for dwarf hamsters is usually better due to the types of ingredients and the smaller sized pieces. Having said that, there are people who give dwarf hamsters Hazel or Harry Hamster - I didn't see that on Amazon though. Edit - found it but it was a ridiculous price!

Serendipity7000, can I just say you're so wonderful! Thanks so much for taking the time to help with Photini, it's really kind of you! I'll look at that mix you listed and probably purchase it (I'll try finding the Hazel mix elsewhere first and see what I find). I'll start a new thread tonight as you suggested, and I'll look at the one you linked. Thank you so much again, you're fabulous!
