Re: Mites
If you have a Petsmart store you can get Fiproguard spray for kittens and cats. If it is Mites you'll be needing a full and complete cage clean and VERY hot bleach water soak to kill any nymphs and eggs which are very close to hatching. The bad part of not seeing a Vet and just treating for what you think is wrong is if it is an allergic reaction and not Mites you are treating the poor hamster with chemicals on to irritated skin. It could even cause his death if the irritation is not from Mites.
Google "Small animal Vets in (whatever) Oklahoma and see if any at all come up and if so, even if too far away you can ask the secretary if they may know of a Vet close to (somewhere) Oklahoma and they should be able to assist you.
