Default Wet and missing fur from Syrian self cleaning

I just got my first Syrian hamster last Thursday (so I'm still going through the taming process). I gave her a sand bath in her cage yesterday and she hasn't been in it much. Today I went to go check in on her and she wasn't sleeping even though its day time where I live. She was bathing herself around her hip area. I didn't think much of it but at second glance I realized that she had done this on both hips and both hips were wet and I could see her skin. I don't think that she chewed off her fur but it was just very odd. It was kind of hot in the room she was being kept so I turned the fan and the air conditioner on. Does anyone have any idea whats wrong? Was it just because of the heat? Also should I take out her sand bath?

Those are her scent glands. When you clean the cage or put something new in it they produce more scent and rub it on to the things in their cage to mark it as their own. It can make the fur look wet or greasy and also makes it look thin over the patch. Try and not overclean the cage as it makes them stressed and moer likely to keep scenting like this.
