Re: Few concerns about Sweepy
Ok I think I got all that My thoughts would be - lift up the main ramp so it makes a joining shelf across the front, between the two shelves and just have the bendy stick ladder/ramp (he'll only need one ramp as he can walk from one shelf to the other). Then hang the sputnik over the bendy bridge that the bendy ladder leads down to (so if he monkey bars he can't fall onto the bendy bridge below). Then the sputnik will come out with the top door when it's opened, but that should be ok.
I would lose the bendy bridge on the right hand shelf and just have the bendy ladder that goes under it - if the bendy ladder is attached securely that is.
The ramp across the front, joining the shelves will block a fall quite a bit across the width of the cage (there'll be a gap between the ramp and the front of the cage but the roof is lower/sloped there, so should be ok). The sputnik will be over the bendy bridge that's on the floor filling most of the remaining gap.

Re: Few concerns about Sweepy
The ramp to join the shelves wouldn't fit because the shelves don't seem to go at the same level and the wheel is in the way! If I put it opposite the wheel it would be in the way of the doors on the front, and there would be nowhere for the bottle to go either
Unable to hang my sputnik!?! I think one of the bits to attach it it the wrong way round because it won't go on without breaking The bendy ladder/bridge is securely on. Only put the bendy log over it because Sweep has a thing about not using certain things unless it has a bengy bridge with it! He's a strange little thing LOL. Can always remove it in a day or two once he is used to using it maybe. But it's easily accessible. I'm thinking though, with the second shelf he can't climb up the bars unless he climbs up the front so can only go as far as the shelf so shouldn't be able to just drop! He is currently running up and down the ladders LOL

Re: Few concerns about Sweepy
The bottle maybe is a bit low. I had one of those and got rid of it because it was so big and heavy. Maybe get one of the classic 75ml mouse bottles or the Ferplast drink ones. I like the Ferplast drinky ones - I have the clip fitted to the bars inside the cage between the two small doors, so I can get the bottle in and out easily through either of the front doors (the bottle sits on the inside of the cage). For now he'll probably manage with the bottle - he can always dig the substrate down a bit in that area.
The advantage of the smaller bottles is they can sit higher up easier.

Rodipet actually make a really good bottle stand that fits the classic mouse bottles (but not the ferplast drinky bottles!) and the stand comes with one of the bottles. I used to have one so the bottle was inside the cage and you can just stand the stand on the substrate. It could even stand under one of the shelves. It's not cheap but it's easy to use as the bottle just lifts in and out.

Does the clip of that fit through the bars? Only I tried to attach the wheel to the bars without using the stand but it wouldn't go through! I'm pretty sure I've had the same wheel attached to the bars of the Alexander before!!

Re: Few concerns about Sweepy
Ok - that's a bit of a pain that the sputnik won't hang! The hanging tabs are a bit weird - it has to be the right way round for them to line up with the bars - so two are facing one way and one is facing the opposite way - I just keep turning my sputnik round until the tabs all line up with the bars and then clip them in - it's a bit of a fiddle clipping them in with 7mm bar spacing.
The only thing I was thinking with the front ladder/ramp is if he monkey barred across the roof and fell on the lower part of the ramp it's quite a fall onto something hard. Maybe just try and fix the grass hammock under the top door then to block most of the centre fall area onto the ladders. Mine had strings on each corner you just tie to the bars.

Yes it fits through my 7mm bars. There's a narrow bit that you put in at an angle and then twist it to sit straight. Or the classic bottles can just fix to the bars with the clip they come with if that's easier. Don't know about fixing Trixie wheels to Alexanders I'm afraid.

Re: Few concerns about Sweepy
How do I attach the grass mat? It has bits of string everywhere and the bits to hang it with are already looped and notted!

Re: Few concerns about Sweepy
Maybe just split each corner string into two and tie them round the bars so you tie each half string in a secure knot (eg a reef knot) - if that makes sense. There looks to be some loose bits of string in the centre of the hammock that might need snipping off so he doesn't get tangled in them.
Is each corner string a double strand knotted at the end? If so just snip the knot so you have two strings.

Re: Few concerns about Sweepy
Paper clips are good for hanging things, just bend one slightly so you have a sticking out bit then poke it thru whatever you're hanging, and hang it on to the bars. I've filled my cage with hammocks and made an emergency new one out of the leg of an old pair of jeans as I won't let maisie fall more than about 6-9 inches and only on to something soft . I'll try and post a pic for you of the paper clips you can thread them through the little holes in the hanging bits of the sputnik too
