Default Lost tooth

I have been informed, Darcy, has lost her top right front tooth due to constantly bar chewing and her top left front tooth appears to be thin and very short. She can still eat which is a good thing. I won't be returning home anytime soon and I was wondering what the pet sitter can do about it apart from keeping, Darcy, in the ZooZone 1. I told the pet sitter to move, Darcy, into a storage box if she starts attacking the water bottle and keep her in there until I come back. I wish I had normal hamsters, not a bunch of fruit loops.

No idea I'm afraid. But I am wondering whether the pet sitter should take him to the vet to check her teeth out?

If possible the pet sitter should take her to the vet just to get a veterinary opinion. This is possible in the US with owner consent I believe, and probably the same in the UK.

I think the vets are closed. It is not worth taking her to the emergency vets because it is not really urgent. Her teeth were fine the weekend just gone. I'll see if a photo can be taken of her teeth at some point tonight and then upload on here once I receive it.

As long as she's doing fine for now it's not too much to worry on,I'd just make sure the pet sitter is doing things to make it a bit easier for her to stay comfortable and all that until you can be back to take her to a good vet.

I have decided to cut my holiday short and I will be coming home tomorrow. I would rather be there myself in case anything does need doing.

I have not long got back home and I am feeling very distraught. Upon seeing her teeth, they're actually much worse than I anticipated and it has sent my anxiety through the roof. I feel like crying! Darcy is still intent on doing more damage to herself so I have placed her in a storage box with some baby food, water bowl, a wheel and a few toys. I scattered some of her usual hamster mix around the box to see how well she eats. She's at the vets first thing in the morning!

Oh dear. Sorry to hear this. The vet might clip her bottom teeth too as they look quite long to me. It sounds like she may need to be in a bin cage or tank style cage now to stop bar chewing, maybe with plenty of wooden toys too. And a dog biscuit might help her with keeping her teeth down, and are good for protein too! I hope you are both ok. Please let us know how she gets on at the vet
