Re: Lost tooth
Zak sorry to hear about your anxiety. Hope you feel calmer now that you are home and able to take Darcy to the vet. Best of luck.

Re: Lost tooth
Thanks for the well wishes and luck! The vet told me her teeth should grow back normally and to bring her straight back if I have any concerns. Darcy has all sorts of chews (from antos dog chews to favoured small wood slices) but she isn't interested in them. I think hamsters secretly like causing such a stir! Haha

Re: Lost tooth
If she continues bar chewing you may need to move her into a plastic cage/tank/bin cage so she can't bar chew. I think some are more chewers than others cos my little one hardly chews at all!

Re: Lost tooth
Kashi has the odd chomp on the bars but if cardboard is available she will usually go for that instead.
Hope you find something to tempt Darcy away from those naughty bars!

Re: Lost tooth
The following question is for breeders on the forum. If your hamster has damaged their teeth due to bar chewing before being placed in a pregnancy tank and said hamster gave birth soon after - when would be best to check their teeth again? More than a few days after giving birth, about a week afterwards or once the two weeks is up? I want to check, Darcy's, teeth to see if they are growing back normally (sounds like they are) and I was wondering what your advice would be.

Re: Lost tooth
Update: Darcy's teeth are almost back to normal. They do look slightly misaligned but that is not too big of a concern right now. I have included before and after photos.
