And also he likes food on his wood Those treat sticks with wood in the middle - they chew the food off and are chewing the wood as well to get it off. Best to get sugar-free ones though. I get the Rosewood naturals ones but not sure if you can get them in the US. The ones with honey in instead of sugar are still a bit sugary.

We took the bead away from her once we realized she was trying to pouch it. Even when she opened her mouth in a yawn she still couldn't get it in there but I'm a worrier so I took it. She likes National Geographic Nibble sticks, papaya stems stuffed with treats, I don't remember them having sugar but I will double check just in case! She only gets one a week right now and I take it out when she discards its once it's been emptied and shredded. The whimzee was definitely an instant hit though, she chewed off little chunks and pouches it too.

Re: Guide to teeth health in Syrian?
The lower teeth are usually quite long and they should meet with the top teeth, but not overlap them. I find scruffing quite difficult and my hams always manage to escape from the position! They hate it and sometimes start squeaking, It makes me feel so guilty.
Abe doesn't like Whimzees serendipity! I was shocked myself when he wasn't interested in it haha.

Great shot with the whimzee, good to hear how much he's enjoying it
Whisper doesn't like whimzees either, there has to be a few with a need to be different

Re: Guide to teeth health in Syrian?
I'm very glad she likes it, it will be good to see her chew for my own peace of mind. Her bottom teeth do look long but I don't believe they are overlapping. Can plastic damage her teeth? She has managed to get on top of her water bottle and is chewing on a bit of plastic on the lid of her bin. I moved the water bottle to a different spot where even if she gets on top again she should not be able to reach any plastic that she could get her mouth on.

Re: Guide to teeth health in Syrian?
Hi, my hamster is also giving me teeth worries.
He is chewing his wooden cage lots all of a sudden.
I have checked his teeth, one of them is now broken but the other one doesn't seem to long. Last night he chewed until his mouth was bleeding (not much but enough to worry me) does anyone have any advice please??
Thank you

Get him taken to the vet so they can have a proper check and level out the broken and non-broken tooth properly. It doesn't sound very pleasant. You could also move him to a bin cage, or cage without any bars for now?

Hi, he isn't able to eat tonight I have crushed up some food and mixed it into a paste. I will book him a vets appointment first thing. So heartbreaking to know he's in pain.
I will buy him a new cage soon so he can't do it again.

Re: Guide to teeth health in Syrian?
torysimpson posted in your other thread, he looks like a lovely boy, hope your vet can sort him out.
