Re: Yellow specs round ears?
The vet may have given the correct treatment but you will know in around seven days. Fingers crossed it does the trick. Keep us posted on how he`s doing. x

Re: Yellow specs round ears?
How long has it been since your ham has been having the treatment? I would use it for the recommended amount of time and take him back if it starts to get worse or there is no change after that. You could always give them a call and see what they say about it x

Re: Yellow specs round ears?
Have you noticed any change in the small ear warts hrl? Is the cream absorbing well or does it stay on the skin when applied?
Give it until the weekend and see if any changes happen. Fungal infections, for example, ringworm, usually take around two weeks to be eradicated using Daktarin cream (GP prescription for humans). I`ve used this myself having contacted ringworm from a mouse I had, but your vet was possibly thinking outside the box for something you could try over-the-counter.
If you see no changes at all or more signs appear, go and see someone else because this vet may not be too savvy. Maybe call the practice and ask the receptionist or the nurse if they can recommend an exotics vet or a vet within their practice who has the best hamster knowledge.
Not great that he gets frozen while at the vets though but that`s understandable. It`s nerves. Just give it time hrl and let things work. If not, it may be worth leaving it for a while to see whether the warts stay as they are or disappear. Good immunity by feeding him dark berries and immune boosting food might help. x

Re: Yellow specs round ears?
It looks as if it is getting better! YAY!!
A few days after I said that I wasn't sure if it was getting better or not, the weird spots started clearing up on his ears.
However, saying that... Does anyone remember me saying him having tiny white spots on his nose? He has that on his male area now... not on the testes themselves, more like where he urinates from. Its very strange. I don't know whether to try the cream there as well as on his ears and nose like I have been doing. Not sure if the vet would recommend cream in that area though!
Any ideas/opinions?

Re: Yellow specs round ears?
I'd just phone the Vet and ask to be honest. Glad it seems to be clearing up

Re: Yellow specs round ears?
I would ask the vet first.
