Default Hamster possible diarrhea

So my hamster Muffin was diagnosed with cancer from my vet and was given Furosemide 0.4cc twice orally. I was told she might get dehydrated so to watch out and give her fresh melons to help prevent dehydration as the drug will drain her body of fluids, including the fluid in the tumors so she can eat and walk with less discomfort.

Her poop gets stuck in her butt and is not dry, it's very very smelly (hamster poop is dry and doesn't stink like this). I think she lacks the ability to clean herself now. Her poop is solid but wet. Should I stop giving her melons for a day? She has finally started eating and pooping again. I was afraid she was starving to death before despite appearing fatter and fatter as the tumor has increased her body size by 1/3 in her ovaries.

What should I do?

I'm not an expert but I fed my girl porridge mixed with boiling water ( cooled first obvs).

And fed her Harry ham muesli only in addition.

she'll be two in late June. Her poop is still solid enough but for hamsters soft poop that smells super bad (like real poop) usually is an indicator she's headed for diarrhea or wettail, especially since it's not leaving her rump. Twice each day I check her butt and wipe it clean if need be but I feel stuck. If she doesn't have her meds she'll stop eating and die horribly in pain, if she keeps taking her meds she will dehydrate. Being a hamster, she will eat what she eats so it's extra hard moderating her melon intake as they eat very sporadically based on craving. Without the melons she almost doesn't eat at all. I would really like some advice

I have no idea what to suggest if I'm honest. Someone will pop up with sound advice on here they always do. I know my last and first ham Suzi started getting a messy bum around that age but it didn't affect her. She formed a suspected internal tumour or pyometra later on which caused bleeding from the back side but I don't think the messy bum was a symptom to that.

Cucumber. Their high in water and most hamsters love them. A phone call to her Vet to be sure this odd stool might not be from the Medicine, and maybe even a Visit so they can evaluate her symptoms themselves. They can also give her sub-Q fluids to prevent dehydration if needed.

It is very very rare for and older hamster to get Bacterial caused Wet Tail but with her medical treatments that may not apply to her. Please keep us up dated as this is the first I've heard of treating a Hamster with Furosemide. It is used a lot with Dogs though.

Here are some side effects of Furosemide in Humans where it is used as a water pill:side effect such as: ringing in your ears, hearing loss; itching, loss of appetite, dark urine, clay-colored stools, jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes); severe pain in your upper stomach spreading to your back, nausea and vomiting; Hamsters can't Vomit but since a Vet prescribed the meds I will conclude that this will not occur with a Hamster on this medication.

She just came from the vet not 2 days ago. He was the one who told me this would likely happen. I just wanted to know if I should decrease her melon (water) intake so her stool will be more solid. Maybe I'll try cucumber/melon every other day. She is drinking and peeing about double than normal, maybe even triple.

I'd go with cucumber rather than melon too & it still might be worth checking with the vet about the smell to be sure that is a side effect of the meds.
If she's peeing a lot she obviously needs the fluids to stay hydrated, I wouldn't try to reduce them either water or veg as it probably won't make much difference to the poo if that is caused by the meds.

My thoughts on cucumber are that it is greasy and is well known to cause gas. She has so much pressure already pushing against her spleen and stomach with a 50g tumor. I contacted my vet today, he should get back with me tomorrow. His practice is open 7 days each week.

I wouldn't call cucumber greasy & although it is infamous for causing gas in humans none of my hams have ever had a problem with it & they have it fairly frequently so I don't think it would be a problem, I think melon is probably too sweet to be feeding daily.
