Re: Hamster possible diarrhea
At this point all she's wanting is melon and berries, the white on corn and sunflower seeds but she's finally eating again.
Vet said she has less than a month so it's a non-issue. I just want her passing to be comfortable. I could only hope she passes while I'm holding her so she doesn't go alone. She sleeps on my lap 2 solid hours each day. All she does is sleep.

Re: Hamster possible diarrhea
I have had hamsters all of my life. I know the price we all pay to love such little, short-lived creatures. I'm sad because I didn't know a Syrian could get cancer so young, as I always read they get cancer when they are really, really old. I expected her to live 3 years, but she's only going to get 1/3rd of that about. It came on so fast. Now all I can do is enjoy all the time I can with her before she goes somewhere I can't follow

Re: Hamster possible diarrhea
Life is unfair. Particularly the life span small animals are given and how easily they can get I'll. Take comfort in the fact you've done all you can and your there for your little princess.
I hope your ok

Re: Hamster possible diarrhea
Muffin is still alive. She hasn't lost tumor weight but she's eating at least. She sleeps in my lap 4 hours a day. It's sad but I am trying to enjoy the time I have left with her

Re: Hamster possible diarrhea
I'm so sad to hear how upset you are. It's great that she's content to spend time sleeping in your company. She clearly wants you there for her. Whatever happens she'll know you gave her all of the love she could've hoped for.

Re: Hamster possible diarrhea
I'm sorry to hear your hammy is so poorly. She is getting a lot of love and care. It is very sad when they are not that old as well. I know you want her to pass peacefully with you, but if she starts to show real signs of suffering or distress it might be kinder to help her on her way x
