Hurt Murmur
Hello,
One of my dwarves makes an odd sound, like a quiet helicopter, so I took her to the vet who listened to her with a stethoscope (with great difficulty, as she doesn't like to sit still!) and said she had a heart murmur and that is what you can hear.
Do you think this is a reasonable diagnosis, or should I take her to another vet? I always worry that it could be a misdiagnosed respiratory infection and that could be what we can hear, but I'm concerned about the effects of a trip to a different vet in case I am wrong (I don't want to stress her out as the vet said to avoid that, and don't want her needlessly put on antibiotics). Presumably if it was a respiratory infection it would've sounded different to a heart murmur, but it just seems so unusual that I worry about needing a second opinion?
Does anyone have any experience of hamsters with heart murmurs?
Thank you!

Re: Hurt Murmur
No experience of heart murmur in hams but I would expect additional symptoms if it was a respiratory infection, hams can definitely have heart problems so your vet may well be right.
