Re: How to deal with worms?
I have never heard of a hamster having worms! There's always something new to learn! Glad u got to the bottom of it I would never have guessed in a million years. U don't happen to know if they can catch them from other animals or are they just hamster worms? I remember studying parasites at uni and we had to look at lung worms in frogs... They were so gross and I felt sorry for the frogs but we were told all wild frogs have lungworm. Yuck

They are the same kind of worms any animal can get, including humans. Dogs, cats, if they have worms they can transfer it to your hamster according to the vet. In fact she said she had never seen a case of hookworms before.

Re: How to deal with worms?
They can get all kinds of worms and I had a Pet Store Hamster have tape worm ,Hookworms, and roundworms. It was gross when she pooped cause you could see the Roundworms squirming in every poo pellet. However my Vet had worm medicine to give which did away with all of her worms. She was a Syrian though so may be why it was treatable.
