There are 2 threads here but again careful with the syringe & point it sideways towards her cheek pouches cause the liquid/food can easily go into her lungs

I'll call again and see about setting up an appointment, the issue now is I'm going to be in class all day tomorrow :/ I need someone else to take her, maybe depends on how long they stay open

Odd behaviour

^ A thread relating to what sounds quite similar to this one if you're looking for some more guidance. Seems a common issue this cold time of year..? I'd definately seek vetinary advice if she doesn't perk up. Best of luck to you and little Rose. X

I just got in contact with a vet, I'm going to have Rose examined Saturday, over the phone I found some things out I hadn't noticed before, Rose is eating a little but she isn't pooping I didn't realize that since I cleaned her cage right after I took her out to hand feed her. I know she is eating at least a little bit of her food, I found bits of it in her cage.
Now I'm really worried The visit itself is Saturday and it's 50$ and another 250$ if they have to keep her, I can't afford that... I really hope this is something I can threat at home.

The Vet visit should shed light on what is happening but one thing I can say beyond any doubt is : Unless you have air conditioning on there is no way she was in Torpor. Temps would have to stay at 50 Degrees for a long period of time and even then she would have to be housed in very little bedding.

Also when you warm up a hamster in Torpor they don't remain listless they awake and act totally normal once their body temps reach normal body heat. I am not a Vet but what you describe sounds to me either she took a bad fall from climbing and has injured her spine, or she has had a stroke, and the slight improvements are just her recovering from either of the a fore mentioned things.

Vet fees are ridiculous in the USA because when you see a "Small Animal" Vet you are technically seeing a specialist which comes with specialist prices.

Good luck at the vet, I really hope they can help her, preferably without breaking the bank!

Yeah there is no way it was a stroke, it may not have dropped to below 50 but this is one of the colder winters in Florida, it has been no higher than mid 60s at noon for about a month now.
I haven't seen her fall and when I picked her up and massaged her back she showed no sign of pain like she injured her spine.

As of now the Vet (Based on her symptoms, still haven't go in to see her yet) suspects something is wrong with her digestion as opposed to anything else, she doesn't want to eat unless I feed her and at this point she wont eat anything unless it's soft enough to mush, and she has stopped pooping, I hadn't noticed that before. She still drinks all the water I give her and again she eats anything I give her that is soft enough to mush...
It is becoming more and more obvious as time goes on that there is no way I can threat her at home, I have 100$ to my name and college bills to pay I can't hope to afford the 250$ they want in order to keep Rose over night. (No that does not include any treatment they have to preform) I'm starting to lose hope.
