Rest in Peace Lurvis. I hope you are alright. It must be very hard to lose her after all this time, just when you found her a lovely new home as well.

At least she had a long life with you.

Oh no. I am very sorry to hear this. I'm glad she had such a long life with you though. It must be really hard coming to terms with it after all the worry you've been through about rehoming her. Things can change so quickly with such small animals. Hugs x

Hello and sorry for late answer

When it comes to medicines, the vet said that she could give Lurvis something that would make her sleep and tak the pain away for two days or so, but because it just will be to give her a little better time and then the pain would come back and get worse, she told me that I was better to let her go before it did get so bad.

It was so damn hard. The vet was going to give her two syringes (?), one to make her sleepy and one to stop her heart, but Lurvis slept in after she got the first one.

The vet told me that she was an exemplary dwarf because she was so nice and didn`t bite.

With me it goes up and down. I dont know why, but it felt like I betrayed her or something.

If the vet recommended her to be PTS then I think you made the right decision. The tumor could have caused other problems and if she was in pain that isn't a good way to live without constant pain medicine and even then you wouldn't know exactly how much pain she is in as hamsters mask their pain very well I heard.

I wouldn't feel like you betrayed her, I think that's natural to feel that way whenever you have a pet PTS. Her tumor could have ruptured when the vet was closed (in the middle of the night) and then she would be in an even greater amount of pain.

Hope you feel better as time goes by.

Hello

The first days was very sad, but it is better now.
It was two things she could have: A tumor or tooth abscess. To give her medicines would just delay health issues. As the vet said, it was better to put her down now, then to let it go so far that she would feel pain.

I still miss he very much and as weird as it sounds, I sometimes look upon the heaven and thinks about her and wonder where she are. I`m working on makin some pictures of her as a memory. The first days it was weird because we used to fill her water and food bowl up at the night, and when we were going to sleep, I automatic did get the thought that I had to give her water and food. And then it was no, she is not here anymore.
