Syrians weight varies massively, a ham can be perfectly healthy at 120g or 350g. You should only really measure their weigh against themselves, it's useful to track weight loss or gain but not really useful to measure them against eachother. If he's not noticeably bony or having trouble rolling himself around his cage he's probably okay

As said, their weights vary a lot. Best thing to do is weigh him every week for three weeks then you'll have a benchmark, then if you weigh him each week you'll know if anything is up. I weigh mine every Thursday and make a note, it's quite useful.

At the moment mine are being weighed every week as I'm monitoring James' growth rate and May has lost a little bit recently and I want to keep an eye on her. I've found that weight varies a great deal from hamster to hamster so it's also worth seeing how they feel to you when you health check them. One hamster could feel skinny at a given weight (I'm sorry I don't know anything about Syrian weights) whereas another will feel fine at the same weight.

Shannonmcn is absolutely right they can range massively. Neptune is 348g which was a massive surprise to our vet but is healthy....he did say the average weight is between 150-200.... But .....I think if you can track the weight and monitor changes that is a good start. PS....Neptune is 2 in March and still massive! He is a breeder ham though which are generally bigger.
