HELP: Is my hamster pregnant?
So I suspect my female winter white, Alicia, may be preganant. She seemed fatter but I thought it was just her eating a lot. But when I held her today I thought her belly felt a little lumpy (might be my imgination) and there are two nipples that weren't there the last time I held her. She was also more aggressive and refused to be held for some reason. I don't know if this is normal or if she's indeed pregnant!
Please help me, I'm really anxious!
The picture shows Alicia's nipples.

Re: HELP: Is my hamster pregnant?
To be honest, I've no idea. I dint have any experience of hamster pregnancies. How long have you had her? That may help to narrow it down. Is she in in her own? Any info you've got would be great (And hello! Welcome to HC)

Re: HELP: Is my hamster pregnant?
Hi Rui. First of all, where did she come from and how long have you had her? Was she in a tank with other hamsters when you got her and do you know if they were mixed or single gender?
Answering this should give you some clues. Russian dwarf hamsters are generally `round` in shape at the best of times and nipples show on females only, so it`s not unusual.
More importantly, is she housed on her own or does she live with another hamster you know (or perhaps don`t know) is male? x

Re: HELP: Is my hamster pregnant?
I'm sorry you were disappointed it took a day to reach approval however the moderation is done voluntarily and we do have real lives and sometimes time differences mean things are not approved within a certain timescale.
I hope the babies do well. Have a look on the boards about surprise litters. The most important thing is to leave her very quiet and peaceful till the babies are well grown. No touching or photographs as that will stress the mum.
Good luck with the litter.
