Re: Worried about Jocci.
Hope she pulls through this, give her as many cuddles as you can and enjoy the time you have with her, I am glad the painkillers are helping and hope they continue to do so xx

Re: Worried about Jocci.
Jocci actually look well in those images lady jocardi. Did the vet say administer the pain killer now or only if you feel it`s necessary? What`s the drug called? It`s difficult to say whether oral pain medication would be beneficial unless the dosage given is correct and she takes it in food and eats it all without pushing it away. Injections are more targeted but obviously need to be done by the vet.
I would slow things down for Jocci, little cuddles, allow her to dictate her life now and don`t use the ball at all given she could have neurological issues. A ball will disorientate her and could cause her breathing to get faster. Little handling sessions would be best. But she`s looking good. x

Re: Worried about Jocci.
Thank you all for kind words and support. I've cried buckets for 3 days solid now. Gosh...This is so hard.
Last night she wasn't on form. She ate her med mixed in with baby food and also had a tiny amount of egg. She came out to say hello for 5 min but wanted to be left alone. When I was off to bed about 2 am she was out and about foraging but wouldn't come our for cuddles. She came to the door....but backed off when I put my hand down.
This morning she is lying in her nest with her head out. She taken a small piece of broccoli but has now gone fast asleep. Obviously...she is usually asleep at this time of day so I shall leave her be. I simply hate to think of her in there.....slipping away when I could be holding her, loving her keeping her warm xxxx

Re: Worried about Jocci.
Make sure she`s warm enough because (I`m in Scotland) it`s very frosty here today and the rooms, although central heated, feel cold when you are not walking around. Sitting or lying still (sleeping) can overtly make the body cold, so check on her a lot just to check that she`s moving or coming out. Plenty of cosy nesting and heating on! x

Re: Worried about Jocci.
It is incredibly hard for you *hugs* but she knows how much you love her & I'm sure she knows you're there if she needs you but she probably is most at ease & peaceful in her nest right now, you are doing all you can for her, hopefully she'll be up for some cuddles again later.

Bless her. What a lovely picture. Sounds like she is happy and loved. What more could a hamster ask for?

Re: Worried about Jocci.
She is incredibly beautiful Joci's mum - enjoy her and spoil her. My Indie passed away in March 2014, but I had kept three of her babies from her surprise litter. I lost my two little girls in Nov, but have my little man Oscar. Every day with him is a bonus - he keeps me going. Please give little Lady Jocardi a hug and a kiss from me xx
