Re: Could it be diabetes?
Good to hear little Flump didn't test positive for diabetes, there can be lots of reasons for drinking more than you would expect them to but it's a relief to know it's not that.
Good he's on the antibiotics now too, hopefully that will sort things out.
I always give probiotics during & after antibiotics to help them cope some nice fresh veg will give him a bit of a boost too. I know I mentioned that before but I do think it's well worth doing.
Keep us posted on how he gets on, fingers crossed you'll see an improvement soon.

Re: Could it be diabetes?
That is good news about the diabetes urine testing. Fingers crossed the antibiotics help with whatever the small limps are. It is strange why they come and go though? Perhaps it will be some kind of infection being the cause and the drugs will help, really do hope so. x

I will get him on probiotics as of tomorrow - I didn't have any in my medicine stash so will need to pick some up on my way home I appreciate the advice, anything is worth a shot to give him a little bit of a help in getting rid of these abscesses. Other than these and the plug he keeps developing he's absolutely fine - he is still charging around like a little mad man on speed! I will keep you updated - I'm aiming to also update and just put some photos of him on the forum too as I should have done that ages ago

It is odd isn't it? The only thing I can think of is that whatever is causing them is still there and it is just taking time for new abscesses to form after other ones burst. I am really hoping it is just some form of mild infection causing it and nothing else, he is such a sweet little ham outside of his cage

Re: Could it be diabetes?
A few photos of Flump would be lovely. Sometimes being too hands-on isn`t a good thing, so concentrate on the penile plugs and the antibiotics and watch for any changes in his poo. If it gets runny, I would be looking at either the pro-biotic and/or the antibiotic causing the change. Hopefully it won`t upset his tum. x
