Thank you everyone

I split open a raisin last night, dropped the Metacam in it and folded it back together again. Skittle never noticed, hahahaha!

But I think I'll still try the porridge though, we have lots in and it might be a nice treat for him to have something different .

I'm not sure if it's coincidence as it's only happened once (last night) but he got up earlier, 10.45pm instead of almost midnight, for his run around/play. When we stopped his meds he seemed to sleep more/wake later i.e. around midnight, but last night having been back on the meds for just 2 days, he was up earlier. Happy coincidence or because of the meds I don't know - if he wakes around 10.45 again tonight then I'd like to think it is because of the meds again.

I've just picked up another bottle of medicine from the vet, should last 6 months apparently! Oh gosh, that reminds me - I never paid! I'd rushed the rabbits in as Thumper had her colic problem flare up again and was very unwell so didn't think to take the money in but they kindly let me take Skittle's medicine as it was ready to collect. The receptionist said that if I forgot to pay she'd put my windows through though ... hahaha! I must go and pay later but it's chucking it down at the moment!

Metacam is miracle medicine I'm sure! It's what my baby Guinea pig was put on when he suffered a spinal injury. With that and a very reastricted living space, he went from dragging both of his hind legs to be a happy, normal little piggy.

I'm glad it seems to be working for your boy as well.

Vets are okay with payments really. They understand that owners can be stressed and forget things when they are in the surgery worrying about their pets. I had to go in the following day and pay my vet by debit card when he came out to the house to put my old dog to sleep. He didn`t even ask for payment as I was in so often with my gerbils and mice at the time! He knew I was good for the payment. x

I've just read the whole thread. Skittle is so well loved and cared for. And you have really good vets. I am so glad it was something they could help Skittle with. Arthritis is not fatal, but it's a mean disease. I've had it since I was 7 years old. So, I know how poor Skittle feels when he wakes up. It's great that the Metacam is working for him.
