Re: Advice please
Broccoli seems to be very popular! Twinkle goes crazy for broccoli! Peas and Mangetout and Green Beans are popular too.

Re: Advice please
Just a quick update on Bella. He's still going strong and absolutely loving his fresh veg, in particular broccoli! He will let me hold him for a couple of minutes but not much more, I'm guessing because he's not been handled for so long and I don't want to stress him as he's so old so I stick to that several times a day (if he's awake). He does sleep a huge amount, bless him.

Re: Advice please
Great to hear he`s soldiering on and still enjoying life. Broccoli is a very good veg for him to be eating as broccoli has proven qualities for cancer prevention as well as the nutrients it gives. Cauliflower, garden peas and baby sweet corns also go down well. At his age, he will sleep more so don`t worry about that. Make sure he`s kept warm though. Using a cardboard shoe box with a few doors cut into it makes a great sleeping box with plenty of ripped up toilet paper or even using some Carefresh or similar paper based bedding will keep him cosy. Cosi n Dri is the best option but some pet shops don`t stock it. It`s like Carefresh in that it`s a pulped soft paper fibre. x

Re: Advice please
I've been using ripped up toilet paper after being advised to by the lovely people on here He has a little plastic house in the cage that he's filled with it and spends most of his time in there x

Re: Advice please
How big is the plastic house? If you think it`s a little cramped, you could easily switch it for a cardboard box, cut a few exit/entry doors in the box and remove the floor of the box as he will dig down into the substrate. Cardboard is better than plastic really and so easy to get or replace and can be chewed safely too! Tea bag boxes or small show boxes turned upside down (remove the lid) so the floor is open underneath, make great sleeping huts. x

It's a reasonable size and to be honest, I don't want to change too many things and upset him.
