Default Help

Name : Stella
Age : 3-4 months old
Gender: Female
Ever since I got my hamster from Petsmart. A month ago she has this " pink " eyelid and I'm noticing it's getting pink around her eye. It's just one eye. I can't go to the vet because we are trying to save money and there is no way to convince my parents. Is there anything I can do at my house to treat this?

How old is she? A little bit of slightly warm salt water to bathe it with might help or a tea made of thyme if there is infection. But really she should go to the vet if there is something wrong with her. I can understand parents not wanting to spend the money but vet care is part of looking after an animal properly.

A picture would be a lot of help but you might need to make a few more posts before you can attach one.

Dust from bedding can sometimes irritate their eyes, what bedding are you using?

I agree with herbi7, bringing an animal to the vet when you need to is absolutely vital. There can't really be a compromise. You might negotiate to save money elsewhere; use your pocket money, sell some old DVDs, ask for some christmas money early or something. It probably won't be too expensive but if they need the vet, they NEED the vet

I'm using Carefresh. I asked my parents if we can cost the vet but they said next month.. I'm going to try buying some thyme tea.
