Exclamation Small lump on Syrians paw?!

Hey, I just did a healthcheck on my hamster and noticed he has a small lump on the top of his paw, looks almost like a "wrist bone" we humans have, but it doesnt feel like a bone, from what I can see its clear and not inflamed, feels like a cyst, is it possible for Hamsters to get cysts? He's had a lump before and it went away after a couple weeks, anyone know what these could be?

I'll try and get a photo when he's woken up a bit, but its covered in fur. I also can't get to the vet until Friday coming up, so any help I can get if it needs attention is much appreciated!

Here's a photo, tried to get a side angle so you can see the height.

They can get all sorts of lumps and bumps, from warts, abscesses or tumours. If its causing him no discomfort then i'm sure the vet can give you a better idea of what it is when you get the chance to go.

The best thing is to observe it and determine if it is an "active" lump or not, so whether its changing in size or any discharge. Is it hard or soft to touch?

It's soft and easy to wiggle around, he's acting just fine and is letting me look at it as much as he can tolerate me faffing around his paws haha, I just didn't notice it at all yesterday and I've been at work all day so I hadn't seen him until now, I'll definetly take him to the vet on Friday, just worried how it's grown so sudden.

I've only experienced tumourous and fatty lumps before, but the softness should hopefully rule that out as a tumour would be firm. And especially since its appeared so suddenly.
An abscess is usually caused by injury, but he doesn't look like its a wound of any kind, and it definitely looks like a lump as opposed to swelling of the wrist.
So you could well be right with the cyst or some sort of infection, since its fluid filled.
There not the easiest to look at closely, so I've often found things seem to appear quite suddenly, but its good hes being his usual self otherwise

Sorry I can't be much more help, sending my thoughts though x

He recently {Friday just gone} got a wooden cottage hideout, and I put his food bowl on top and some play sticks as "stairs" for him to get up and down, I've witnessed him try and jump from the top rather than go down the play sticks so maybe he injured himself that way.. I'll change his layout to be on the safe side, thank you!
