Default Yuki is limping

I noticed today whilst Yuki was running in her wheel that she's limping. Her running/walking is almost like hopping. I put her on the couch and noticed that she's probably limping cause of her right arm. However, it doesn't seem to be broken, swollen or anything out of the ordinary. I've checked her body (especially her right shoulder) for any strange lumps and there aren't any. Everything's normal
She doesn't seem to be affected by it other than the obvious limping. I'm wondering what could it be? Also I have a feeling taking her to the vet will be useless cause she would need an x-ray scan and I don't think they're doing it here on hamsters... We barely have any hamster products in petshops let alone (good) hamster vets.
I'll keep an eye on her and hope she maybe just landed strangely sometime during the night cause her usual cage bars hanging.

It could be a sprain, I would remove her wheel so she can't do any damage, I'd also give more substrate and bedding for comfort. Keep a close eye on her for a couple of days and if she dorsn't improve then take her to the vet.

I removed the wheel, but only just now because I didn't sleep here last night and I feel terrible about it.
Yuki's running/walking is the same I checked how she was doing the minute I got home.

I did want to mention one thing. Limping is a sign that your gal is in some sort of pain. As Thin Lizzy mentioned (lizzy's a great name btw ) I would take her to the vet if she doesn't improve in a couple of days. They will hopefully be able to tell you what exactly is causing the limping and be able to prescribe a pain killer (i believe metacam and carprofen are the most common) to help. In addition to taking out her wheel, I would also take out any climbing toys or things that she could fall off of. I hope she gets better!

I agree with lizpowello7 that the limping will be causing uncomfort and stress, vets can prescribe a course of tablets to help with the pain. Plus keeping the wheel out of the cage until the limping stops and if you've got levels in the cage, remove them so she can rest and recover but, book an appt at the vet asap.

She's actually doing better. I put Yuki on my bed and it took me quite a while to see if she's limping at all now. I think she still might be, but it's barely noticeable.
The wheel is gonna have to wait 'til she makes a full recovery. I'm relieved now.

Do keep in mind, however, that just because she isn't limping, she could still be in pain. Hamster are prey animals, meaning that they are much more likely to try and hide their pain. I would personally still keep an eye on her for the next couple of weeks, to make sure she doesn't over do it

Azula, observe her walking on a solid flat surface rather than a soft bed. Check her paws for any toe swelling or reluctance to place a foot down, or if she`s placing all four feel on the ground but still seems to have a slight lameness, she may have caught or pulled something. If the limp has improved somewhat, chances are it will recover on it`s own. A gerbil of mine had a suspected pulled muscle and I took him to my vet who agreed that he would need time, but she was right, he suffered no further issues and his back leg corrected itself after some cage rest. My gerbils didn`t have wheels either, he was in my jeans pocket one day while I was half lying on my bed and rushed out having took fright at something and jarred his leg.

Is Yuki fine otherwise? x
