Exclamation Itchy itchy itchy

Hello! So I have just adopted my female syrian 'Bug' (yes I have owned several Syrians in the past), no health concerns for the two weeks I have had her.. Until the past two days. She will not stop scratching, rolling, rubbing on the bars, basically anything to scratch her seemingly itchy skin. I have tried searching for mites (nothing really I could see) but I don't want to completely cross that off the list, as it still has only been 48 hours since this obsessive itching has began. Tonight I am changing her aspen bedding for shredded paper and taking out newer treats to see if that makes any difference.
So I come to you to see if anyone else has come across problems like this, and how you would make their itching stop.

Also, she is a rescue (from an animal hoarding sitation and then taken to a shelter and I took her out of foster care) and was born 4/5 months ago if that helps at all.

If changing her bedding doesn't work you really need to take her to the vet. She might have mites. I'm not an expert by any means but I know there are mites on the skin and mites under the skin so you wouldn't necessarily be able to see them. There's been quite a few posts about itching and mites the last few days so worth scanning the healthcare section for other posts about itching.

mites are too small to see so you would need to check with a vet to be sure, see how she goes with the change of substrate though, it could be she's a bit sensitive & that may make a difference.
