Sore looking skin around the anus.

Hello,

So I was watching Gimley last night and she was burrowing and I noticed a black thing around her anus. So I put her in her transparent hamster ball and the brown thing had gone- I suspected it was poo.

So I looked at Gimley again (around the anus) just to make sure and the skin looked rather sore. It wasn't sore like being painful as Gimley is not in pain and is eating and drinking normally (I moved Gimley's water bottle into a wooden block). The area around the tail looks rather swollen. I'm not sure if Gimley is during her period but I am a little uncertain.

I'm sorry I cant get a pic but I will try.

So should I take Gimley to the vets or not?

Is she a syrian hamster? Also, hamsters don't have periods, if you mean you don't know if she is in heat I don't think it would matter (please correct me anyone). Pictures would be good I think.

No she is a roborovski. I also think that they have gestation periods. I'm wondering if its pyo, so if anybody knows the symptoms of pyo then that would be helpful to ��
