I would take her to the vet as soon as you can.

Re: Missing her cheek.
It looks like she has had a prolapsed pouch that has dried out and shrivelled. I think she needs to see a vet as her lethargy may be due to her feeling unwell. Hamsters are not naturally lazy. Maybe it is something she will just live with but best checked out.

My parents will only take my hamster's to the vet in a case of wet tail or a cat attack.

Re: Missing her cheek.
Well DyingScout the hamster is your responsibility and she clearly needs medical attention. You need to explain to your parents that her injury is as serious potentially as wet tail or a cat attack, and convince them that there is no difference. She is likely suffering and it is not acceptable that she is refused treatment.

Re: Missing her cheek.
Please please take your hamster to the vet.I think Souffle is right about prolapsed cheek pouch. It is a big deal to your little furry friend, who is in pain now...and possibly distress...
It doesn't matter what size your pet is,you are responsible for her wellbeing,as she is totally relying on u to get her help she needs.
Once we get a pet we have a responsibility to that animal for its welfare and wellbeing, and no animal should be denied veterinary care when needed, whether it is a horse,a cat or a pet mouse.Size doesn't matter! X

Re: Missing her cheek.
This is what annoys me, when you get any pet you need to be prepared for emergencies, I put money away each month so that should a problem occur, I've got money to cover the costs.
Your parents need to realise that hamsters have rights when it comes to their health.

Re: Missing her cheek.
I took her to my friends house who's mum is a vet. She told me she was just choosing not to use that pouch and she recommended to put her a much large cage. Which I was planning anyways. She said it looked more scarred from aN older hamster than a infection. And she saw since it was already fully healed around the old wound she did not see it was necessary to fix it. Jonah is fine. And is only 4 to 6 moths old that surprised me.
