That's good news DS! What cage do you have? There are a lot of low cost options for a suitably large cage-- Have you seen some of the fantastic "bin cages" people make? What's your budget? Of course you know now you also have to put some money aside for emergency vet fees. Where did you get her from?

One of the most commonly available tanks on Craigslist is a 55 gallon tank, these make great hamster cages, and are relatively easy to find. Just make sure you give it a good cleaning before you put your hammie in contact with it.

You need to up your earning power
Have you seen the bin cages? They cost very little and can be quite good. You can connect them too.
BluerayDarkes has become something of a bin expert by necessity lol-- check out this thread and have a look around the 'net.

You are lucky to have a friend who's mum is a vet.
I agree with Piebald, Blueray's bin cages are very impressive. You'll get some great and inexpensive ideas from her.
